N95 Medical Masks

N95 Medical Masks are a class of disposable respirators that have been approved by the FDA and NIOSH as a Type N95 respirator suitable for use where fluid resistance is a priority. These masks are suitable for use in surgical and clinical settings have at a minimum a 95% efficiency rating against particulates which are 0.3 microns or larger and have met CDC guidelines for TB exposure. These N95 masks helps protect against particulate contaminants but they do not eliminate the risk of contracting any disease or infection. The Misuse of these N95 respirators may result in serious injury or even death.

Please Note:

A mask offered in more than one size, the medium or medium/large will generally fit 90% of the general population. Approximately 5% will use a small mask and the remaining 5% will need a large mask. That being said, the one determing factor has in most cases little to do with a persons physical stature. A person weighing 230 plus pounds and standing 5'3"'s may use a medium mask, while someone very petite 5'2"'s may wear a size large. The determing factor is a fit test, and the recommendation of all the manufaturers. Whether disposable or reusable in nature all masks/respirators should be fit tested.
For most individuals that is too expensive and time consuming and so our best advice is to use common sense. If you are not overly obese or overly thin than our best advice, choose a medium size or regular size mask.
